Elnevez\u00e9se a \u201eple\u0161\u201c szl\u00e1v sz\u00f3b\u00f3l sz\u00e1rmazik.<\/p>\n<p>Hossz\u00fa \u00e9vsz\u00e1zadokon \u00e1t itt \u00e9ltek a magyar kir\u00e1lyok. A kir\u00e1lyi sz\u00e9khelyek k\u00f6zels\u00e9ge ide\u00e1lis helysz\u00ednt biztos\u00edtott eleinte a cisztercita, a benc\u00e9s, majd a p\u00e1los kolostorok sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra. A pilisi hegyekben rendezett vad\u00e1szaton \u00f6lt\u00e9k meg Gertr\u00fad kir\u00e1lyn\u00e9t, akit a pilisszentkereszti cisztercita kolostorban temettek el.<\/p>\n<p>A pilisi falvakba Erd\u0151h\u00e1t, V\u00e1gmente, Nagyszombat k\u00f6rny\u00e9k\u00e9r\u0151l, illetve az Inoveci hegys\u00e9g vid\u00e9k\u00e9r\u0151l v\u00e1ndoroltak le szlov\u00e1kok. Az els\u0151 telepesek 1699-ben \u00e9rkeztek \u00e9s Piliscs\u00e9ven telepedtek le. A pilisi szlov\u00e1kok r\u00f3mai katolikus vall\u00e1s\u00faak. A falvak lak\u00f3i eredetileg fakitermel\u00e9ssel, sz\u00e9nb\u00e1ny\u00e1szattal \u00e9s m\u00e9sz\u00e9get\u00e9ssel foglalkoztak. Kihaszn\u00e1lva a k\u00f6rny\u00e9kbeli patakok erej\u00e9t Pilisszentkereszten \u00e9s Perb\u00e1lon v\u00edzimalmok m\u0171k\u00f6dtek.<\/p>\n<p>Szinte az \u00f6sszes telep\u00fcl\u00e9sen folyik szlov\u00e1k nyelvoktat\u00e1s az \u00e1ltal\u00e1nos iskol\u00e1ban. 1994-ben megnyitotta kapuit a P\u00e1zm\u00e1ny P\u00e9ter Katolikus Egyetem B\u00f6lcs\u00e9szettudom\u00e1nyi Kara, ahol
